HONORING THE VETERANS OF NEW TRINITY CEMETERY
Volunteers are needed as we prepare New Trinity Cemetery for several important veteran-recognition events this fall.
WEEKDAY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Monday, August 10–Friday, August 21
Monday through Friday only
7:00–9:00 a.m.
Chad will be at New Trinity Cemetery every weekday morning resetting and securely anchoring veteran medallions to help prevent these important markers from being lost.
Anyone is welcome to stop by and help—even if you only have time to say hello on your way to work.
SATURDAY CEMETERY WORKDAYS
• Saturday, August 29
• Saturday, September 5
• Saturday, September 19
• Saturday, September 26, if needed
There is no limit on the number of volunteers who may participate. Projects will include:
• Installing new veteran headstones
• Cleaning and straightening existing headstones
• Replacing American flags
• Securing veteran medallions
• Cleaning cemetery grounds
• Completing additional projects as needs are identified
PROPOSED CARRY THE LOAD NATIONAL DAY OF SERVICE
Saturday, September 12
We are proposing the New Trinity Cemetery veteran restoration project as a main event for the Carry The Load National Day of Service. This will be an opportunity for individuals, families, veterans, service organizations, businesses, and community groups to come together in service to those who served our nation.
TMF LEGACY EVENT
Saturday, November 7
Our volunteer workdays will help prepare New Trinity Cemetery for the Travis Manion Foundation Legacy event. Additional event information will be announced as plans are finalized.
The Travis Manion Foundation empowers veterans and families of fallen heroes to develop character in future generations. To learn more about TMF and its mission, visit:
VETERANS DAY WWI RECOGNITION CEREMONY

3:00 p.m.
New Trinity Cemetery
On Veterans Day, we will gather to recognize every World War I veteran resting at New Trinity Cemetery.
These veterans will be honored for the World War I Victory Medal ribbon and campaign clasps they earned through their military service but did not receive. We are currently working to update and correct their military records so their service can be properly documented and recognized.
Please join us as we ensure that these World War I veterans receive the honor and recognition they earned more than a century ago.

There is no limit on volunteers for the primary cemetery workdays. Whether you can give two hours, one morning, or several Saturdays, your service will help preserve the stories and legacies of the veterans of New Trinity Cemetery.

The American Legion is nonsectarian and welcomes members of all faiths. Its motto—“For God and Country”—reflects respect for religious freedom and the place of faith in many veterans’ lives. Post 655 VSO Team will be at the Post every Tuesday from 10 am to 1 pm and 4 pm to 6 pm.
Please bring all documents you have received from the VA.
If you have a conflict with those times, please email admin@alpost655.org to set a special time.
