A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from January 23 through January 26. Please use extra caution when traveling and allow additional time if you need to be on the road.
Canteen Hours Update (Friday, January 23):
Due to expected conditions, the Canteen will close early at 6:30 p.m.
Breakfast Service Update (Saturday):
Breakfast will still be served, but the hours have changed to 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (noon). If you are dependent on our Saturday breakfast and are unable to travel, please get in touch with the Post to arrange a delivery.
Auxiliary Meeting Cancelled (Monday, January 26):
The Auxiliary meeting scheduled for Monday night, January 26, is cancelled. If a special meeting is needed before the regularly scheduled meeting in February, members will be notified.
Power and Member Support During the Storm:
Historically, the Post has not lost power—or recovered quickly—because we are on the same power grid as North Hills Hospital. If sustained power outages occur in the area, we will make the Post available to members who need a place to stay warm and safe during their outage.
If you have any issues related to the winter storm—such as needing assistance, checking on another member, or questions about Post operations—please get in touch with the Post at 817-834-1632.
Updates will be posted on our website and Facebook. Please join/follow using the link below:

For God and Country
Submit Prayer Request
The American Legion is nonsectarian and welcomes members of all faiths. Its motto—“For God and Country”—reflects respect for religious freedom and the place of faith in many veterans’ lives. Legion posts traditionally appoint a Chaplain to provide spiritual support, offer non-denominational prayers at meetings and ceremonies, and care for members and families in times of need. The Chaplain’s role is pastoral rather than doctrinal: to comfort, encourage, and uphold the dignity and well-being of all, regardless of background or belief.
You don’t have to be a Veteran or a member of Post 655 to make a difference — all are welcome to serve beside us.
When you volunteer, you become part of something greater: a community bound by respect, gratitude, and the shared mission of honoring those who’ve served our nation.
Every meal served, every event supported, and every hour given keeps our traditions alive and our community strong.
Your time doesn’t just fill a slot — it feeds the spirit of service that defines the American Legion.
Join neighbors, friends, and veterans in giving back.
Whether you can help for a full shift or just a few hours, your efforts make a real impact — and remind every veteran that their sacrifice is never forgotten.
Service isn’t a duty. It’s a legacy — and it continues with you.
