Community Service work crews from the Tarrant County Sheriff's Department clean all along 28th Street/State Hwy 183. After the cleanup, people could actually tell there was a cemetery there, and you could enter and exit safely to and from the road.

The before and after in the area of the flag pole and Veterans Garden. The transformation would not have been complete if it weren't for the cooperation of the building owner, who has also installed new lighting at night that shines into the Cemetery.

Before any work, see all the overgrowth, and stones completely misaligned and tilting, the far back stone is sitting on the ground, free-standing.

Brush and trees cleaned up, and Head Stones replaced properly and aligned, but still work to do. The two middle stones need to be raised, and the dead tree must be removed with the property owner's cooperation.
To the left was overgrowth, which had covered Dr. Ransom and family graves. His large marker and brush area is being used by transients as shelter at night. The State marker had to be uncovered for the before photo. Once the area is clear and no longer in use, he and his family will receive the respect they deserve. The State marker is scheduled to be cleaned by the Texas Historical Commission.
